Celebration of Birthdays and Hen’s Party

It is time to countdown to Hui’s wedding. We, the sisters, have to start our planning on the tricks to play on Onion. The ploys that we use for Hui’s wedding are likely to be ‘adapted’ for Sharon’s in 2 months’ time.

We met for Hui’s belated and Sharon’s advance birthday celebrations. As usual, we are always late in birthday celebrations, so we ended up celebrating birthdays belatedly.

Given that Sharon, Jess and I always seem to have a heaty condiment, we have opted for Japanese cuisines. We believed that the selection of healthier food is of greater variety than western cuisines. This is probably one of the reasons for settling for Japanese cuisines most of the time as the selection offered is likely to cater to the different whims and fancy of the group.

Sharon has brought along her wedding photos. Always a little princess among us all (she is in fact the youngest among us), she really resembles a princess in the photos. Haven’t seen Randall for a long time, he has also grown broader and fairer in the photos. Randall used to be thinner and tanner during school days while he was training for sailing. Sharon, being an animated speaker, was sharing ‘behind the scenes’ jokes and hardship while we admired the romantic shots. For instance, one particular shot required her to tap her feet in murky water which she has initially been reluctant to do so because the water appeared to be infested with mosquitoes. Eek! Fortunately, the photos turned up to be rather romantic. In another shot which they were sharing champagne on the beach, she has confessed that it was actually chrysanthemum tea in disguise. Hee!

We cannot believe that Sharon and Randall have been together for 10 years since JC1 while Hui and Onion have been together for 7 years since Uni 1. And we have been buddies for 18 years since Sec 1, even though when we try to recall our school days, the happenings and images are becoming more and more blurry.

In 2 weeks’ time, Miss Hui will become Mrs.

In 2 months’ time, Miss Sharon will become Mrs.

The two youngest among us are putting on the wedding veil and move on to a new phase in life where they will not only be responsible for themselves but also for their life partners. It will soon be Mrs Onion and Mrs Randall. :-)
