Swensen’s has just introduced new meal sets under the theme of Pirates of Caribbean, probably as promotion for the upcoming movie. They looked enticing, so we have decided to try them out.
Pirate = sea; Caribbean = tropical?
The sets are seafood related with the use of colourful fruits. Each set comes with a cream seafood soup, main course and a mocktail. There are four selections for the main course - grilled chicken, fish fillet, grilled prawns and steak. The mocktails have a pineapple base and a mix of other fruits, such as strawberry, passionfruit and mango.
Three of us have decided to share 2 sets to avoid eating too much for the dinner. We have chosen the fish and the prawns. The fish was tender and spicy. The prawns were delicious. The drinks were slightly sour, perhaps due to the pineapple juice. We have ordered another side dish – calamari to ‘supplement’ our meal. We loved the calamari as well because the squid was soft and not the least rubbery while the crust was crispy.
It was definitely a satisfying meal. Even my mum who normally dislikes western food was giving thumbs up for the meal.
