This was what Richie said when he was about to separate from Xiao Bei.

Richie and Xiao Bei were characters from the Taiwanese drama serial which I was watching recently - "爱情魔法师" (Magical Hairstylist of Romance). Richie was aware that Xiao Bei cared more for Ya Si. Moreover, he seemed to bring more tears than happiness to Xiao Bei's life. Thus, he decided to set Xiao Bei free.
Regardless of whether it is between intimate lovers, closest kins or best friends, the statement is still filled with extreme sadness. It reflects an ultimate moving out of another person's life with no recourse or reconciliation.
Sigh! I hope I will never need to hear that from anyone to anyone.
