It has been a long week. We were tired from meeting the numerous deadlines. There was only one word to describe us – “Sian” (tired).
We have not had lunch together for a long time because one of us would have lunch meeting or projects to do. It was a Friday – wind down mood. After discussion with Angela, we decided to initiate a jie mei men’s (Chinese, means sisters) lunch out. There were ten of us in total. Almost everyone could make it, except for two.
Just as we were looking forward to a walk along Orchard Road, it started to pour. This called for an immediate change of plan. We decided to go to our canteen for lunch instead.
As we adjourned for an earlier lunch, it was perfect timing to try our famous Korean food – most shiok for eating there and then because of the sizzling hot plate. Normally, there would be a long queue for the food. No queue was apparent as we were there at 1130, 1 hour before the official lunch hour.
It was a good 1.5 hour of catching up. We would have stayed longer if not for my boss looking for me to attend to a conference call at 1 pm.
