We have been working hard for the past 1 month, so it was time to reward ourselves. Someone suggested going for porridge buffet at Hotel Grand Court. Porridge sounded healthy for a bunch of accountants who have been burning mid-night oil and satisfied some of our essential needs for rice (so that we can feel full).
We were slightly disappointed with the spread because there was not much variety. Although the pickles and the soy-sauced tofu and tau pok whetted our appetite, we still felt that it was not as value-for-money as we thought. Many of the dishes were simple fare. The topping-up of finished dishes were not as prompt. The fried fish was slightly too oily for my liking while the curry-marinated fried chicken wings seemed abit 'out-of-sync' with porridge.
I have heard that there was a better porridge buffet at Tiong Bharu. Hmm...perhaps I can give it a try some other time.
