Sometimes a song may already be very captivating but if you watch the drama or the movie for which the song is the themed song, the story will enhance the melancholy, the romance or the mischief of the song. The song will seem even more vivid when now it seems to be telling a story.
The recent 7 pm drama on Channel U “Love aound the Corner” is a good example. I used to like the themed song by Show Luo Zhixiang but I like it more when I think of the story associated with the song. The one song and drama which seem to really complement each other is “Romance at Dolphin Bay”.
One can really feel your feet tapping when you hear Le-Ann Rimes’ Can’t Fight the Moonlight. However, you really want to move with the music after you watch Coyote Ugly. It has even started the trend of bar-top dancing. What about the J-pop? Utada Hikaru’s First Love was endearing but the song has a sense of melancholy with the backdrop of unaccepted love between the teacher and the student.
So which is the song you like? Do you love it more after seeing the movie or the drama?
